CONDITIONING PERIOD - BEAVER CAMP - August 7th - 11th

The Conditioning Period is the first five days of practice, Monday- Friday. This is BEAVER CAMP!

Beaver Camp is an annual event at the beginning of each season. It is the only time during the season all players, at all levels 3rd to 12th grade, work together during practice. It is a great team building experience as together they learn the basics of football, mentoring, and leadership.

Beaver Camp also serves as a portion of the 10 hour conditioning period required prior to pad and contact practice. All players are expected to attend.

Please plan to come out and watch some of the camp if you can. It is a fun and impactful time for our youth players. It's also a great time to for parents to get together and meet all the people that make up Beaverton's Football Family!

This season Beaver Camp will be held at Beaverton High School

Each player must complete ten (10) hours of conditioning before practicing in full gear. Attendance at all days of Beaver Camp will count toward this requirement. Players will not be able to participate in conditioning unless their Medical Release Form has been submitted per TVYFL policy.

Conditioning consists of two hours of exercises/drills each day. It is important to bring plenty of water, as it is usually very hot during this time of year. Players will wear HELMETS (neck strengthening) with MOUTHPIECES (safety) during the conditioning period along with short sleeve t-shirt, shorts, and FOOTBALL CLEATS. NO pads or padded pants.

Player Evaluations will be the first days of Beaver Camp. Evaluations mark the beginning of our season and attendance is mandatory. The player evaluations serve as a means to evaluate the ability of each player to make sure all BYF teams are divided in a balanced and equitable manner. Players will be timed in objective drills and evaluated on football skills. Teams will be drafted and formed for the third day of the conditioning period. Your child's coach will contact you on Wednesday evening or Thursday day with their team assignment.

Practice in full gear will begin the Monday after Beaver Camp for those players who have completed the 10-hour conditioning requirement. Full gear means all pads, pants, jerseys, cleats, and helmets - mouthpieces are mandatory. No player will be able to practice without a mouthpiece. You cannot practice in full gear if you have not completed the 10-hour conditioning requirement. Arrangements need to be made with your coach to complete your conditioning before you can be in full gear. Practice will be 10 hours per week until Labor Day. Your coach will release the times and days for your practice.

Our annual car wash is our fun team building activity. All players are asked to participate. The event gives the players and the parents the opportunity to get to know their coaches and teammates, work together, and have lots of fun. Be prepared to get extremely wet and to work a bit too!!

This year we will be doing the car wash the Saturday after Beaver Camp. This will give our Beaverton Football Families a full weekend off the following weekend.
